Terms of Service

Last updated 28 July 2026

These terms govern your use of Foyer, a personal productivity application operated by Max Riunge (“we”, “us”). By signing in you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What Foyer is

Foyer is a private, invite-only tool for capturing and reviewing tasks, notes, calendar events, and personal records. It is a personal project, not a commercial product. There is no fee, no subscription, and no service-level commitment of any kind.

Your account

Accounts are created at our discretion for named individuals and are personal to you. You are responsible for the security of the Google account you sign in with, and for everything done through your Foyer account. Tell us promptly at riungemaina@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • attempt to access another account’s data, or any part of the system you have not been granted access to;
  • probe, scan, or attempt to breach the security of the service;
  • use automated access — including the API and MCP interfaces — in a way that degrades the service for others;
  • upload unlawful content, or content you have no right to store;
  • use the service to break any applicable law.

Any API credentials or MCP client registrations issued to you are tied to your account and must not be shared.

Your content

The content you put into Foyer remains yours. You grant us only the permission needed to store, process, and display it so the service can work for you. We do not claim ownership of it and we do not use it for any purpose beyond operating the app — see the Privacy Policy for the detail.

Connected third-party services

Foyer can connect to services you already use — Google Calendar, GitHub, Vercel, Sentry — and is itself hosted on Vercel and Supabase. Your use of those services remains governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or conduct, and connecting them is always your choice.

Availability

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it — including any integration — at any time, with or without notice. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data will be preserved or recoverable. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in Foyer is financial, medical, nutritional, or professional advice; the finance, weight, and training features are record-keeping tools only.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the service. Because the service is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you is limited to zero.

Termination

You may stop using Foyer at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, including for breach of these terms. On termination, your right to use the service ends immediately; deletion of your data follows the process in the Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, the date at the top of this page changes. Continuing to use Foyer after an update means you accept the revised terms.
